Who we are

Thomas and Léo, two brothers, two amateur cyclists. Not professionals, but people who love cycling, who train, and who see things through to the end. The project was born out of a simple desire: be useful. Behind the kilometres, there’s also everything else: fundraising, choosing the right kit, safety and communication.

Macéo is a friend from nursery school. Over 17 years of friendship and memories. Today, the idea is to turn this challenge into a fundraiser for the charity Hissez Haut Macéo, which supports him every day. An adventure to celebrate friendship and support solidarity.

MACÉO, 20 years old

Macéo has been our friend since childhood. We’ve known each other since nursery school. That’s 17 years now.

He’s simply part of our lives. Macéo is the very reason for this project. The aim is to support the charity that looks after him, by raising its profile and securing donations that can be put to good use.

LÉO, 18 years old

Thomas’s brother and co-organiser of the project. An amateur cyclist, fully committed to the sporting and logistical preparations for the crossing.

Our story

We met Macéo at school when we were little. Then the years went by, and our friendship endured. As time went on, one thing became clear: disability really does change your life, in the little things that make up every day. It’s hard to just stand by and watch.

Cycling emerged as the vehicle for the project. It’s a long, demanding journey, built step by step. It’s also a simple way to convey a message and get people involved.

Macéo lives with a physical disability. His mobility is limited, and many everyday tasks require more energy, more time, and often adaptations. There’s no need to make this a medical issue: it’s a constant reality, with practical needs, such as adapted equipment and specialist support.

Donations are used to support the charity in these initiatives and in meeting the needs arising from this reality.
